FAQs

Will I be able to choose where I live, who I live with and who supports me?

We ( One Step ) will make sure that you are involved in and supported to make a choice around your accommodation based on your needs and preferences.

You will also be able to meet the people before they start to support you so that you can get to know them . You may also be invited to help us with your choices when we interview for new support workers

How much will the support cost?

The cost of the support that we provide is based on your individual needs. Some people need a small amount of support and others need more, so the cost is different for each person.

Will I get help with the costs of my support?

There are a number of ways that the support can be paid for. Social Services may pay us directly on your behalf. However if you have a personal budget or private funds we would arrange for you to pay us directly. If you have a care manager or social worker they will be able to advise you on this further

Will I need to be assessed?

You may have already have been assessed by your care manager or social worker , but we would also complete an assessment with you so that we can understand how best we can provide the support that you require.

What would I do in an emergency?

Many of our services have a 24hr on call service to provide help and advice, although the emergency services are always available by dialing 999.
